I am not sure if you have already gone on your cruise since the post was from January. The dolphin encounter was one of the highlights of our cruise. We needed to book the excursion from the ship because the cruise lines book all the excursions for the port days, so you won't be able to just show up at the aquariam and do the dolphin encounter. The ship made the arrangements for the transportation to the aquarium- I believe it was around a 15-20 minute drive by a van taxi. There are changing facilities at the site. You can bring a camera but you won't be able to take pictures while you are doing the encounter. You will be standing a metal platform that is about waist level and the aquarium has photographers who will take two pictures of you and the dolphin during your excursion. One picture is a dophin giving you a kiss on the cheek and the other picture you are holding the dolphin. Everyone's pictures looked great. You had an oportunity to purchases the pictures or purchase a CD with the images at the end of the tour. After the encounter, you will have an oportunity to tour the aquarium and watch others who are doing the dolphin swim. Everyone in our group agreed that this was the best excursion of the cruise and definately worth the money. If you want to swim with the dolphin this isn't the tour for you--you will want to do the dolphin swim. This is an excursion for any age group. You don't need to know how to swim to be comfortable on this tour because you will be standing on a metal platform in the water.
