St. Thomas VI and stores closing early on Sunday?

I heard stores close early on Sunday in St. Thomas. If ships are in port will they still close? Looking at booking future cruise where ship is in St. Thomas on a Sunday?

Thank you so much. I love this website. I always find my answers. The stores on Sunday do close at 1 p.m. or sometime don't even open at all. It all depends on how many ships are in port according to their tourist information guide.

I was in St. Thomas in early December aboard the QM2. We docked at Crown Bay on a Sunday. Only some of the stores opened there. We were advised downtown shopping Sunday hours of operation are limited and most downtown stores will close at 1 pm. Stores on the piers usually remain open.
