Can anyone please recommend a beach in St. Lucia and Barbados that has facilities, restaurant, chairs for rent, bar, and nice calm waters. Any advise would be appreciated. We are going in November and want to just relax on beaches.
In Barbados, there is the Boatyard beach. Has all the things you are looking for, not far from the port and you can even rent jet skis, great beach to sit and relax.
Thanks Donna. I was looking at the website and there could not find how much it cost to get in. Do you know? Also, it appears there are a lot of boats moored offshore but I can not tell how far away they are from the beach. We love to go out far and swim, do you thinks the boats are too close to the beach? Weird question I know! But thank you in advance for your knowledge.
No worries about the boats, way far off shore, will not interfere with swimming. I think it's about ten bucks to get in, but I would say worth it, we had a great beach day there.
Somehow, the $10 sounds about right, per person, includs a beach chair and possibly a drink and use of the water tramps, etc. No, any boats are way far out, they have a swimming area roped off as well, plenty of room to swim without worring about boats or jet skis.
Thanks again Donna.............On St. Lucia, I seem to remember taking a taxi to a beach that had chairs, and an outdoor bar/restaurant with wild monkeys around the tables........you seem to know a lot about the carribean, have you ever been to this beach?
Sorry, no haven't been to a beach like that in St. Lucia, just St. Kitts that had monkeys running around.
In St. Lucia, did a day trip to a Sandals, beautiful beach and you have use of all the pools, food, drinks, etc. IT was a short cab ride from the pier.
I believe there were 3 different Sandals locations on St. Lucia. The closest to the pier is where we went. They did not provide transportation, so a cab is in order. There is a golf course at that location as well. Great beach/pool area. At least at this Sandals, they really welcomed the cruise passengers.
Hi Asmith,
When you get to the dock in St. Lucia, Sandals has a little booth and you just arrange it then and there. No transportation, but its a short cab ride from the pier. They have 3 to choose from in St. Lucia, we just went to the closest one.
I'm sure you can pre-book it on the Sandals web-site if you want, but I wasn't sure what to do that, so it was last minute. Nice to know in case you are still undecided on what you want to do in St. Lucia.
