Kenin,
I am going to assume you are referring to the San Juan Marriott on Condado Beach. I think it's the Solaris.
If so, we stayed there last October both before and after our cruise on Adventure of the Seas.
Pre-cruise we splurged and got a room in the tower part, high floor, with balconies on 2 sides. The room was spacious, and well appointed. The bathroom was huge. One balcony overlooked the pool, and in the distance, Old San Juan and the fort. The other faced the Atlantic Ocean.
Post cruise, while we had the same type of room booked (through Marriott) we opted to change it for a room with just one balcony, overlooking the pool and Old San Juan. This room, while a tiny bit smaller, was just as nice. If we go back, we will opt for this type as opposed to 2 balconies.
The hotel itself is well kept, has a couple of restaurants on premise, both of which we dined in. The food was good, and "hotel priced" if you know what I mean. There is also a casino on premise as well.
The pool deck is large, with 2 pools. We unfortunately did not take advantage of it due to frequent showers during our stay. There is also a beach directly behind the pool area with chairs and loungers. There is a security guard posted at the entrance to the beach
Across from the hotel there is a Starbucks, although there is also a coffee/pasrty bar in the hotel itself. A block or so down the street, there is a Walgreen's, and a Dunkin' Donuts. Up the street ar a couple of restaurants, as well as an ice cream place that serve gelato. One is a pizza/pasta place that looked good.
There is a bus/trolley stop half a block from the hotel entrance, where you can catch transportation to Old San Juan. When we were there on a Saturday, it was free.
Overall, we were well satisfied with the property and the area, and would stay there again should we ever sail out of San Juan.
If you have any other questions, post them and I will try and answer them.
