Default Aruba D.I.Y. Tour

Going to Aruba on HAL this December. Any suggestions on things to do for a husband, wife, and a 8 year old? I heard Palm Beach is nice. Also are there changing facilities at the beach or do you have to go back to the ship? We will be in Port for ten or eleven hours and would like to make the most of it.
Thanks for any help.

If you want a day at the beach I can recommend the private Island of the Rennaisance Hotel. You can buy tickets for that. It's walking distance from the pier (at least to the hotel and boat to the island) and has all necessary facilities. It's nice and quite and one of the most beautifull beaches of Aruba.
If you want to see something of the island: rent a 4x4 and go into the state park. We found the butterfly farm not worth the entrance fee

Have fun

I once took a tour of the island, quite interesting. That was also when the rock bridge was still standing, they actually let you walk out on it and stand on it?? There are also lots of nice beaches, and you can use their public transportation, the bus station is very close to the pier.

I think you can find more information at aruba.com/OurPeoplePlaces/Friends/hal.aspx or meetaruba.com/WhoisACB/StaffServices.aspx .

Thank You.
