Taxi to Beach in Puntarenas Costa Rica

Hi,

Will be visiting Puntarenas on a one day stop and would like to visit Playa Santa Ana. I believe it's the closest beach in town.

Is there an easy inexpensive way to get the beach? Taxis? Can you tell me approx the taxi fare and whether or not I have to make arrangements for a taxi to pick me up and return me to the Cruise ship dock?

I do not know where that beach is but right at the dock there is a very long stretch of beach.
At the end of the pier there are lots of tour guides taxis etc
