Nice beaches, good shopping, and nice hotels with casinos, other than that, there is not that much to do on Aruba..The natural bridge they had which drew tourists, collapsed several years ago..

For a week if you, are a beach lover, you will enjoy it..I have friends that go every year, and, some more than that. The casino's do have shows, and the shopping is very nice. I believe it's called a El Gaucho, a great steak place. To veg there is a good thing, but,if you are a type A, like me, I would prefer to visit it on a cruise...

We are not beach people however ,we do like to visit beaches when we travel. The May stay is for a destination wedding
Our 4 friends cruising with us suggested either The Ostrich Farm Tour or Aloe Plant tour ,both with bus touring of the countryside .Has anyone done either and if so would you recommend them ?
Henry, Be sure to take a tour of the island, did that once and it was very interesting...At that time, there was still the rock bridge, but has since fallen down...I do remember actually walking on it...You will be suprised that so much of the island is desert like, with the divi trees and beautiful white sand beaches.
Did the Aloe Plant tour - thought it was very interesting you get to watch thru large glass windows how the stuff is extracted and how the products are made - of course they have the gift store at the end where you can purchase the products that are made there - I think it's worth the time to visit.
I stayed on the island for about a week and took an island tour by bus. This is something I do on any island I visit to get a taste of how people live. I think it was De Palm tours.
My next cruise takes me to Aruba again and am planning on a beach trip while remembering the constant 40mph winds. A couple of Pina Coladas will suit me just fine.
Casino's are also something to do. But, I have to agree with Trip on the steak restaurant, El Gaucho. I can still taste it, yummm.
