Q on a cruise from San Juan, Puerto Rico

My first time to cruise alone and first time in Puerto Rico. How far is the airport from the RCCL port? what about hotels? Any info would be much appreciated. thanks

You are about a half hour from the airport to the pier by taxi, very easy to do. There are also hotels that are right across the street from the pier, or there are also airport hotels, depends on where you want to be.

[Trip]

You have 2 places in SJ, that ships dock. One is in Old San Juan, downtown, and, near the shops,and restaurants. The other pier, needs a cab ride to get you to the hotel area.

Downtown right across from the pier, is a Sheraton hotel, with a casino. The Condado hotel area, has a broad range of hotels, many with casinos,and entertainment.

Just as an aside.... often, when ships don't fill up, cabins are sold at low rates, for Puertan Rico citizens. When this happens, many times, you have less English speaking cruisers to mingle with. Made me wish I had taken Spanish in high school..I would have loved to havve been able to find out more about PR, an island I so enjoy, from the locals on board...
