Hi All taking a cruise Apri 3 with 2 days in SanJuan PR. before the ship sails.
We are staying at the Caribe Hilton and Reviews say it is very costly to eat and drink there. Could anyone give me tips on where to go for food and beverage that is reasonable thats not too far from the hotel. We are willing to cab there. Also what are some of the good excursions. I would really like to be prepared before we arrive. Thanks for any help
can't help with food or drink, but a few really neat things to see and do in San Juan would be to wander around Old San Juan- very pretty, very interesting, Ft. El Morro is really interesting, great place to fly a kite and it overlooks the harbor entrance so you can see the comings and goings of the cruise ships. A great day excursion would be to take a tour of the El Yungee Rainforest,-breathtaking
Go into old San Juan and walk around a bit. I am sure that you will find a place.
Try the SJ food court in front of the Colombus Plaza. DONT WORRY BE HAPPY
I love San Juan..I need to go back to get some more beads I saw in a bead shop right by the pier I better book something fast!
We took a city tour, that brought us into an art deco area, and visited parts of the city we had never seen on tours before..loved it!
Since you have so much time, look into going to El Junque, the rain forest.
Shop on Forteleza St,and if you are there on a Saturday..there use to be a craft fair, right by the ships, in downtown..there is also is a Hardrock close by....People are very friendly, and, helpful in this beautiful city.

The Hard Rock is open and located in the same space. The fire was in 2003.
I remember the first time we looked for it, way back, due to historical laws, there was no big signage..we just walked right on by it!
