Are you stopping in Jamaica's new port? Seems like they are not quite prepared yet...I am sure they will soon get their act together..If you are going next week, come back and share your thoughts.
We will be visiting the new port of Falmouth in October. I'm not quite sure what we will find there. Shopping, excursions, cultural places, etc. I haven't heard that much about it.
I'd also be interested in hearing reviews about this new stop.
"....Bartlett gave the assurance following a meeting with tourism stakeholders today after two days of strike action by 450 workers at the construction site.
The industrial action has resulted in the delay of the cruise ship, Navigator of the Sea, from calling to port on Friday. The tourism minister says following today’s discussions it was agreed that the ship will now arrive on February 17."
With the crime we saw last year lets hope they have a safer, more profitable year.

I was on the first docking of the Voyager there last week. Construction is definitely not near done, but it was a really neat experience. Was a big event for the locals, and I am glad I was part of it. That was the general feeling on the ship. I wrote a longer post in the RCI section under Snoozeman's Falmouth post, so I won't repeat it all here. Great place to pull in, but plan on cabbing it to a beach/restaurant/excursion/shopping tour until more development is finished at the pier. Not yet walker friendly.
just curious is Falmouth replacing one of the other ports? or will there be three cruise ship ports in Jamaica?
Its my understanding that it was built with RC money and is reserved for RC and Celebrity use. Others lines will continue to moor / tender at other ports. Thats what they said when I was there last week, but now I wonder if that is 100% accurate.
We leave tomorrow on the Ryndam and received notice today that we would not be stopping at Falmouth but at Ocho Rios instead. Neither is a bargain in my estimation. Stay tuned.....
