if looking to save $$$ of course the bus will be best, but then you have to rely on a schedule.....if using a taxi, end result will be a slightly higher cost, but knowing that taxis are readily available and quicker !

We were in Grand Cayman last month. There is a taxi area one block off the main drag. Taxis (vans) run continuously at $2.50 each way for most destinations, including 7-mile beach. There are stops and you just put up your hand and flag them down.
Keep in mind as well, the taxi drivers know the beaches/hotels that welcome cruise passengers. The beach is huge with all kinds of water activities you can imagine. Also a nice place to just sit and enjoy the water, just beautiful.
Looking forward to this in November, plan on doing our own tour of the area via 'bus' or taxi. and then hanging out at the beach until time to get back on the boat.
