Any good St. Martin websites?

I am going to st. Maarten next month and am trying to find as much info about the island. Is there a good website that has island info, pictures, etc...? Is it better to book directly through the operator or on the cruise ships for an excursion?

On this island I would just walk off the ship and book a tour from the many, cabs and vans waiting, vs a ships tour. I love to do an island tour here, to see both the French and Dutch sides, with shopping and an interesting driver. The French side has some great shops, and, cafes right by the water.

I was just there last week and the island was great!!! I did the Golden Eagle Tour, was a blast! Sailed to a beautiful island just off St. Martin for the beach and snorkeling, after got all afternoon to shop around Philipsburg and chill out in Great Bay beach till departure time. Your wife will go mad when she sees all the Jewelry shop in Front Street!

I booked through a company called SXM Deals (Welcome to sxmdeals.com-Best deals for tours & hotels in St.Maarten / St.Martin) and got a complimentary Golden Eagle shirt with my trip, their website has plenty of info on tours, beaches and everything else you need to know about St. Maarten. You should check them out. I can't say much about land based tours since I didn't get a chance to try them out... Next time!!!

Just to get an idea of what all you can do here, go ahead and look through all the excursions the cruiseline offers. You can either book with them or do something on your own.
