Peat Taylor Tours, Ocho Rios

After reading reviews on tour guides for Ocho Rios we decided to book with Peat Taylor tours. We will be visiting Dunn River Falls, Mahogany Beach and then the straw market before making our way back to the ship. Has anyone toured with Peat? Has anyone been to Mahogany beach? Any opinions welcome. This is the only port we won't be going off on our own.

Hi Aerogirl,

We used Peat Taylor about five years ago for a group of about 40 that I organized. He and his son were wonderful. In the morning, they brought us to DUnn's Falls, the rainforest, a school were the students sang to us (he knew that some of us were educators), and a fire station for the firemen in our group. In the afternoon, we split up. Some went shopping and others went on a lazy river tubing ride. The tubing ride to this day is one of my favorite excursions. He probably will not remember us, but tell him Pete from NH says hi.

We used the ShoreExcursioneer website for Dunns River Falls and River Rafting...it was awesome! In Cozumel we did the Dune Buggy ride wth the same company....we will reserve with them again!

I will have to remember this tour company if ever back in Ocho Rios. I have been to Dunns River Falls and it was pretty cool. However, being a solo traveler, I unfortunately found Ocho Rios to be a very nasty, dirty and unsafe place. I might even stay on the ship if I ever ported there again. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.

Jamaica is a lovely island & quite diverse BUT I would never advise wandering around alone.
