We really enjoyed the Chaccoben ruins. They are not quite up to Tulum. We have never been to Chichen Itza but I think it is something special. Still, Chaccoben was very interesting and well worth a visit.

and they did a terrific job! (Note that the cruise lines try to control Costa Maya and you have to be persistent to get out to the independent van loading area!)
