Belize cruise port

Looks like in 1 1/2 years we will be docking in Belize and not long tender we currently do.:-?

That is an interesting development. Hopefully not too many cruisers will get stuck on this "fantasy island." On the plus side our last stop in Belize followed several days of rain and cancelled most if not all excursions in a Western a Belize. A terminal area like this might be a tolerable consolation prize.

This will be good for Belize. I do hope it will spark development and a clean up of the area near the cruise port. That has been one of the negatives to docking in this area. Like many areas, if you get away from the port there are some beautiful areas and sights to see. (i.e. Puerto Limon, Costa Rica)

The outer islands and cays are beautiful and the diving is some of the best in the world but the long tender rides have deterred many from even getting off the ship. The pier will make this better for the tourist industry.

Take care,
Mike
