We decided to fly down a day early for our cruise, we are sailing Oct. 15 on the Paradise, our TA got us reservations at the Sheraton Biscayne Bay we wanted to know a good place to eat (romantic!!) and if there are places of interest close by or something you guys would suggest. Also any tips on embarktation from the hotel? We felt it would be easier going the day before, not so hectic, and we would be rested!! I had posted this on the old board yesterday(8/21) but couldn't find it!

Blue skies and beautiful sunsets

Go to Joe's Crab House.. a very popular place with fantastic seafood.

Stayed at the Sheraton in early May, sailed Carnival Triumph, Western Carribean and found it comfortable and the "view" in the morning, see attached, just added to the excitement.
As far as baggage etc., Carnival really impressed me in meeting us at the arrival gate, showing us the way to baggage claim and getting us on the motorcoach. We loaded last, because they will drop you at the hotel first if there are sailing that day.
Another thing is have ALL your paperwork filled out....because you can do all your paperwork at the hotel and bypass all the waiting at the pier. Just pass throught the "airport" security and basically walk right onboard.
Joe's is excellent...and so is the Rusty Pelican, it's on the Richenbacher (sp) Causeway. Also a neat place is the "Market" which isn't to far from the hotel. Basic cab shouldn't cost more that $10 each way.

My sister, daughter and I stayed here in April. Never again!!!! They had elections for Peru in addition to Prom night that night and the night before a private party so they closed the pool to hotel guest!! The people for the elections for Peru numbered in the thousands--they expected only a few hundred. Carnival bus would not even go to the door and dropped us off down the street. Driver told us to be careful and wished us luck getting through the crowds. The hotel was fined by the fire marshal for exceeding number of people and blocking the road and entrance. Security couldn't do anything and it was a MESS. People and screaming kids everywhere in the lobby and on the grounds. Hotel guests couldn't even get in to park. If we would have been able to we would have stayed elsewhere. Hotel mgmt couldn't understand why all the guests were upset. I would have Carnival put you up somewhere else.
