Default Nassau vs. Cancun?

I'm trying to pick a cruise and could use some guidance. I've narrowed it down to the Imagination ( Grand Cayman and Cancun ) or the Fantasy ( Freeport and Nassau ). As far as I can tell, the ships are practically identical; they differ only in the ports of call.
Can anyone help me choose between the two?

Are these both 4 night cruises, Gail? Because if you are comparing the 4 night on the Fantasy to the 5 night on the Imagination, I would automatically recommend the Imagination!

Sisan
Part of the choice is one is in the Atlantic Ocean
and the other is in the Caribbean. Both have plis's and minus's
Water clarity in the Caribbean is much better in our opinion.
The water color is also different.
We prefer the Caribbean.
In the Caymans you can snorkel with the Sting Rays.....
big time memory.

Hi Gail,
I'd go on Imagination to Grand Cayman and Cancun. We just loved Grand Cayman and snorkeling with the sting rays and of course the beaches are lovely.

Thanks, everyone!
Is there snorkeling with sting rays anywhere else? (Cancun, Key West?)

Hi Gail,
No, afraid not, if you want to snorkel with the sting rays, only place is Sting Ray city that I know of. I know in Nassau you can do a dolphin encounter, which sounds really neat too?? Let us know which cruise you end up going on and enjoy it.

Did you go on a tour with a cruise, or did you find the stingrays on your own?

We used the ship tour.. a few bucks more and it was fine. If the ship tours are sold out go to the pier, be a little cautious to make sure you get plenty of time with the rays. Doing the ship tour got it out of the way for us and we went on to other things. In some ports it is much cheaper to get a shore tour, but takes a little practice and research..use cruisemates it really works. Tour guys on shore can drive you a little buggy. Have a great one and remember "A boat is what you board when the ship is sinking"

Gail
You might want to take a poll on whether you step up your cruise from 5 to 7 days.
Such as the Victory. You may find the cost diff very little depending on where you are comming from. If you change your mind ..repoll cruisemates.. for a recommended ship.

Beginner's Luck at bingo on aboad a previous Carnival cruise won me another cruise up to 5 days in a Verandah Suite. Seven days isn't an option...but I'm not complaining!
