can't bring alcohol aboard carnival?

i've read (and been told by my agent) that bringing on your own small supply of liquor to combat high drink prices is a big no-no. i've also read that this can be accomplished by packing items in your luggage.

we'll be driving to the port and are curious if our best chances are placing something in our portered luggage or in our carry-on. does anyone know if this is worth the risk?

Carry on luggage is x rayed before boarding. If it's spotted it could be confiscated and given back at the end of the cruise.
Packing it in your luggage and having the porters load it for u is fine. Just use plastic bottles, or be sure it's well protected, or u could be starting off the cruise doing laundry.

We went on a cruise 2 weeks ago. Friends of ours snuck alcohol on board through the suit case they checked in. While we were in Grand Caymon, we bought to bottles of alcohol and put it in our book bag. When we got back on the ship, we had to go through and x-ray which we got a little worried, but they didn't say a thing.

Carnival's policy is that you can bring one bottle of Champagne or wine on per person IF you are celebrating a specific occasion. Go to Carnival.com and e-mail them yourself and ask what exactly their policy is. When they e-mail you back, simply print it out and bring it with you to the terminal.

Hi. We went on the Triumph in April. We brought on a suitcase filled with beer, wine, and Bailey's. No problem -- as long as you check your bag and don't carry it on. We also brought a collapsible cooler in our suitcase. The room steward always kept it filled with beer and ice!! kacey wrote:

My bar bill for a whole week on the Elation was $5.50 - the cost of the drink of the day, and you get to keep the glass. I put a quart of vodka in water bottles, and carried them on in a cooler. We had sodas, water, and even cans of beer we inadvertantly forgot were in the cooler when we got on board (we drove and stayed overnight in LA before boarding) and no one even looked in the cooler. We bought liquor in Puerto Vallerta, and no one even took it from us for safekeeping like we were told. We brought drinks we made in our room into all the bars.

If you bring your own beer/cokes with you for your room should you also bring a cooler to keep them iced down or could I put them in the fridge in the room if there is one? Would that be OK or would they remove it if they saw it in there fridge?

If you ask....and sometimes even if you don't ask, the room steward will clear the frig so you can have room for your drinks!

Enjoy!

hi
on both my carnival cruises-brought 2 bottles of wine (carry on)-as it is permitted --uncorked them in my room (not brought to dining room) and steward supplied ice bucket)--also-brought a plastic bottle of other libation-in checked luggage--no problem--used that for before dinner cocktail--
