TODAY WAS BEAUTIFUL IN VA. BEACH,TEMP. 85, BLUE SKIES,GENTLE BREEZE, PROBABLY ONE OF THE LAST BEACH DAYS OF THE YEAR. I LOOKED UP AND BEHOLD! A CARNIVAL SHIP IN ALL ITS GLORY WAS SAILING EAST ON THE CHESAPEAKE BAY. ALAS, I HAD NO BINOCULARS SO I COULDN'T MAKE OUT THE NAME BUT SHE WAS BREATHTAKING AND A PERFECT ENDING TO A PERFECT DAY. What a great story! I have no idea what ship it was, but I bet somebody here can figure it out.
Most likely the Victory headed to I believe Virginia Beach for some of the cruises to nowhere, before going to Miami for the Caribbean Sailings, I know it was hear in NY since end of Aug. and think it finished its cruises to Canada, and I heard it was doing some two or three day cruises from as I said Virginia Beach or somewhere close to it.
The ship you saw was the victory , we just got back yesterday(Thur) it was a 5 nite to the bahamas. GREAT ship absolutly beautiful!!!!! We had very rough seas on sun. going down everyone was sick , I have no idea how high seas were but, there were white caps in the ocean everywhere!! But the rest of the cruise was fine except we had 4a cabin and heard beating and banging all the time. First cruise and I dont know if i could try another ship because I'm not sure if the others are this beautiful.
TINA, I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE VICTORY BECAUSE SHE WAS SO BIG & A DIFFERENT DESIGN THAN THE OTHER CARNIVAL SHIPS. I HAD MY JET SKI & STARTED TO CHASE HER DOWN , THEN SAID ,"NAH-H-H, I'M TOO CHICKEN & TOO SMALL, I'LL JUST LOOK & WISH I WAS ON HER!" YOU WERE A LUCKY GIRL TO HAVE SAILED ON SUCH A SPLENDED RIDE!! It was definatly the Victory. I sailed on her out of Ny and she was heading to Virgina before her trips from Miami to the Eastern and Western Carribean. Shes a beautiful ship of Blues and greens, A sea motif.
