Hello. I sailed on the Sensation a month ago. It was very wonderful. As far as the seating arrangments, we did not find out till we got on board. the times were printed on our sail and sign card. If you don't like the seating, you can always ask to have it changed and more than likely they will change it for you. Our room was pretty small. It was a lot smaller than what I expected it to be, but since we were hardly in the room it did not matter. There was 3 beds in our room which I think is standard, so it should work out for you guys really good. Oh, and when you get to grand cayman, I would highly recommend the sting ray excursion. It is wonderful. There is a lot of other excursions on the island, but in my opinion it was the best one. one last thing, make sure you bring dress clothes for formal night. My boyfriend brougt 1 dress shirt and 1 pair of dress pant. No tie. He had to keep wearing the same thing every formal night. Make sure you bring at least 2 sets of dressy clothes. Anyway, I hope you really enjoy yourselves. Have a great time.
Also, be sure to take a few long sleeved shirts and a jacket. We did the Sensation on 1/9/00 and found it to be quite cool in the evenings. Also, it is very cool inside the ship, especially the lounges. My husband always had a coat or jacket on.
Be sure to do the Stingray city tour, definitely worth it. We did the catamaran snorkeling tour in Cozumel and really enjoyed it also.
If for any reason you can't make it to the dining room for your assigned seating, don't worry, the buffet on the Lido deck is always open during meal times. We were especially glad of this when our sailing out of Tampa was delayed due to fog in the morning so that the ship didn't even arrive in port until 2:00. We had the late seating and were starved (between airline "food" and nothing to eat at the terminal while waiting for 6 hours) and didn't want to wait until after 9:00 to eat. Don't forget the 24 hour pizzaria--it is terrific!
My husband and I went on the Sensation last January. I would suggestn the late seating ror 3 singles. Families and seniors tend to eat at the earlier seating. If you get hungry for a snack before dinner order something from room service to get you thru. I can't ever rememnber the casinos closing before I went to bed...they probably stay open till3 or so. Also some of the evenings there are r rated comedians at midnight to listen to. I froze in New Orleans in the morning. I wished I,d had a hat....but it did warm up. THe stingray tour in Grannd Cayman is fun...try to do the one where you can stand with them..also bring an underwater camera from home for $8 bucks or so from walmart...they charge $20 to $30 on the ship.
Carlos and charlies is the place to go in Cozomel if you want to party...crazy place loaded with people from cruise ships. Also 3 in the room will be fine. one of the beds will pull down out of the wall and be a bunk. The food in the dining room is excellent so don't miss too many meals there.Have fun
we went on the Sensation Feb 2000 and just loved it!!!!! it was our first cruise also. stingray city is fun if your into adventure, i am glad i did it, but am definately NOT in any hurry to do it again...snorkeling is great in cozumel and the excursion where you do the catamaran to the island and drinks all day was a blast!!! met some people from other cruise lines at island... we personally like late seating for dinner, it gives you ample time to get back from excursions and get ready for dinner and maybe even time to catch a quick nap if ya need one... ... we are going on the Inspiration Feb 2001, so we won't be on your cruise, but have a great time...
