hi: Got home from my wonderful cruise on the victory last night. We stayed in Ft Lauderdale an extra day so we weren't so rushed. I ended up getting a virus or food poisoning yesterday so travelling was awful. We had such a great time and I am hooked. Everything you guys said was true. I made the mistake of not taking my carring on the ship. I didn't realize that I may not be getting my luggage till late in the evening. We had to go to dinner in our shorts. The atrium is just beautiful. This must have just been a joke but they were playing the theme song from titanic when we entered the ship. If anyone needs any information on the ship, just email me at d.p.murray@sympatico.ca and I will do my best to help out. I just want to say thanks to everyone here for being so helpful. All the best Daphne
I also sailed on the Victory 11/5. It was my 9th cruise but 1st Carnival cruise. I have been hooked on cruising from day 1 but now I am hooked on Carnival! What a fantastic time. All the garbage I heard in the past about this line was just that....garbage. Everything was wonderful. The dining room service did lack but my tablemates and the rest of my experience more than made up for it. The ship is a beauty and offers something for everyone. If you can't have a good time on this ship or find something that suits your palate you are seriously picky. Children's World is fabulous. My normally reserved 2.5 yr. old absolutely loved it. I could go on and on!!! I am sailing the Imagination in February and maybe the Spirit next November. One thing is for sure...Carnival does have the fun!!
So glad you had a great time! I had seen your postings before you left and was anxious to hear all about it when you returned. We are going on the Victory 12/10 and I can't wait!! It will be our first cruise as well.
What excursions did you end up taking?
We took the tour and beach bash in St. Croix. Very disappointed. Only had and hour at the beach, would have liked to have the whole day. I will try something else next time. We did go to Magens Bay in St. Thomas and that was nice, food and drinks are very expensive there, you also have to take a cab and pay to get in, so try to make it worth your while. It was cloudy the whole time we were at the beach. we still had a good time. Daffed
Hi Patty! I am going on the Victory Dec. 10th also. There are about 10 so far found on this sight going the same time. Where are you from? Thanks everyone for the great insight on the Victory.......can't wait!!!! Jill, Alesia, Sandi, Fig and Barb, and Gail.....Where are you guys? I got my docs yesterday, how about you?
I have a group of 50 people going on the Victory on March 25th. I am curious to know if they offer any "snuba" tours? Also, was there another tour at St. Croix that other passengers really liked? Additionally, what was the name of the tour you took, that you disliked?
I got my docs yesterday also!!! Can't wait for the Captain Marvin's tour of the best snorkeling spots on Cayman, and the horseback ride in Jamaica, not to mention swimming with dolphins in Mexico!!! Only 24 more days. Having done this cruise before I know what to look forward to, and what to avoid. See you on VICTORY!
I am sorry to say that I didn't like anything about St. Croix, or the E. Caribbean, I don't plan on going back. I know you can do some on line reasearch and find some snuba tours. Also you can check CCL's tours out on line at CCL's website.
I'm jealous! I want my docs!!!! We're from Columbus Ohio and will be looking forward to some days in the sun. Can't wait!!! I've been counting the hours for what seems like years. I tell you, I've not hardly thought about Christmas because I've been so consumed with dreaming about this cruise!!!!
I finally got my docs as well. Here's a quick word to the wise: I called the airline to ensure that my boyfriend and I got veggie meals to and from our cruise and the woman at US air informed me that I was not booked on the flight that was listed in my papers. They were real airline vouchers but for some reason she had no mention of us in the computer.
Well, I called my TA and he tweaked out and said he would call back. An hour later he did and it turned out they had sent us the wrong info! He received the correct docs the next day and had them delivered to my office but it was defiantly a wake up call.
Don't assume that the TA will take care of everything. Look stuff up, make friends, talk to people and don't be afraid to question shady things. We are all set now and looking forward to heading to Miami a day early to party.
Hi Jill,
Good thing you really looked at the tickets and called the airline, wonder what would of happened? That is another good tip, to go through the docs when you receive them and call the airlines, make sure you have seats, and if not seat assignments, then make them. How different were the flights from the first set of docs compared to the 2nd? Enjoy Victory!
Dear Patty,
You will have the greatest time on this cruise. This is my sixth cruise and I would not think of going any other way. You get so much for your money and you have such a great time. You don't have to ever think to yourself what are we going to do now, everything is planned for you. You just pick out what you feel like doing. You get Carnival Capers every night (newsletter) and it shows you everything that is happening the next day. You just have such a hard time picking what to do. What sailing are you going on? I am going Dec. 10th on thr Victory. I am also looking to meet as many people as I can. Gail
Happy Thanksgiving!
We're excited of course. We're going on the Victory December 10th too! I finally got my docs on Wednesday and I've already filled them out, emailed the phone numbers and pertinant info to family and have tucked it away for safe keeping. I picked up a new swimsuit a couple days ago and a new necklace today to go with my formal night dress. I'm ready!!!!
Hey Jill and others going on Victory 12/10/00. I got my docs. on 11/17 and still don't have a cabin assignment as I have an upgrade guaranteed outside cabin with balcony. So I too want to meet all here online somewhere onboard. I think it will be lots of fun. I was on Triumph in August and the 2 ship layouts should be almost the same. Let me think about a great place. I would prefer a drinking place of course because I am on the cruise to have fun and forget it all. It is too late to reply now, so please email me: TheBabe40@aol.com if you think of a place before I do.
If anyone wants to meet me I will be playing roulette after my early seating for dinner until about midnight. My pic is posted on meet on board under date, and ship of our sail, incase you will have trouble spotting me (long blonde hair). I suggest you pick a time and meet at the first few tables that are going to be at the beginning of the walk way that I believe will be called neptunes way, starts just past casino, and it takes you by the disco's, all the way to the night club at the back of the ship (Deck 5) I have been on all the destiny class ships, but could not log on to CCL's website to see for sure. I suggest you do it after the late seating for dinner the first night, and get to know eachother. I don't know what plans you all have for cayman, but I have booked the captain marvins three hour 3 snorkel stops that includes stingray city. I can add more to the reservations if you let me know you would like to go. Cost 32 plus 5 for snorkel equ, my credit card at no charge will hold the reservation, and you can pay for yourself at the dock. This tour rules compared to the ships offering, which may be booked by the time you get to it. Yes I have been there and done them both. I must know before we leave, so I can call and update marvins. Gail is in, others welcome. For those of you without a balcony that don't want to be mobbed on deck when we set sail you are welcome to come on up to deck 10 room 1067 and enjoy the view without the mob. ONLY 12 DAYS TO GO!!!
I just booked the Victory Western Carribean today. Your e-mails have been very helpful in figuring out what to and what not to do as far as excursions. Can you e-mail me the contact info for Swimming with the dolphins in Cozumel, the Captain Marvin tour in Grand Cayman and do you know about horseback riding in Jamaica?
Also any suggestions on nice beaches? It sounds as if the ship does not take you to the best excursions and you are better off bookiing on your own ahead of time. Any websites that you can suggest regarding excursions?
Hi Debbie,
Congrats on booking Victory for your next cruise. Here is a link to the dolphin swim that you're looking for. It really looks like a lot of fun. Thinking about doing it too on our Explorer cruise next April. Enjoy the cruise.

You may also want to contact Port Pormotions and set up some excersions ahead of time, I hear they do a good job:
