Default Cruise policies on passenger exchange

My sis in law is going on the Celebrity at the end of December. She has a ticket that was previously booked for a friend of hers that cannot go on the cruise so she asked me to go. She called Carnival and they said I could not go that it has to be the original passenger. Anyone know anything about the policies or how we can get this changed so I can go?

Have you by ANY chance read your brochure? It is ALL spelled out there. They have the right to refuse passage or to reticket at any price they care to make up. This is something your TA should be handling

Yes, your TA should be handling this. If you have not previously changed a name on this booking and now wish to do so - Celebrity should accomodate this. Yes, they can reject your request as is stated in the brochure but your TA should be able to handle this. If not, call Celebrity's customer service number 1-800-529-6918 and ask them to help you.

Yes I finally got them to let me change the name...I was so thankful because the cruise was sold out...of course I had to pay a penalty but that is okay..thanks for all the help.

No jeans, tshirts, or tank tops in dinning room during dinner, 2 formal nights, the rest is casual. I wear silk broom stick skirts, they travel very well the more wrinkled the better. Men, dockers and a polo shirt.

Okay thanks so much for your help...I thought maybe some capri pants not in the dining room and sandles...or some little canvas shoes. And I have some cute little sundresses I guess for the dining room. I think we only have one formal night since it is just a 4 day cruise.

Alesia--

You 'dog' the poster in your first reply, and then ask her for prices??!! What's with that?

I'm still wondering why you 'dogged' her in the first place. I've seen you post before and don't doubt that you might have valuable input but you might want to take a time out for an attitude check.

Have a fabulous weekend!
