Default Just returned fron Victory W caribbean

Had a Fantastic time!!!! not much sun to be found as it rained and was cloudy every day but 1. However there is so much entertainment and great fun to be had on board... we had fun anyway!!!!!!! We were in Caymen and Jamaica a very short time. Buy drink coupons ahead of time, avoid most tours the ship offers... you can do them on you own cheaper with less of a crowd. Dont go to the stores that the cruise director tells you.... They are more expensive and I am convinced the ship gets kick backs!!! You can party till dawn and the deck party as you leave cozumel is the bomb!!! Take a cab to Carlos and Charlis's in Cozumel... A must.. In Grand Caymen, Take a bus to the Westin. They have the best beach (DO NOT DO THE SHIPS BEACH TOUR) the ship will send you to a different beach and it cost to get in and has no sand, only rocks and coral. The Westing has fine sand great lounge chairs a swim up bar and they treat you as if you live there. You get the run of the place at no cost. We took a local's suggestion and went there ....and were the envy of everyone we told about our day there. you can parasail, snorkle, rent jet ski's everything and they come to your lounge chair and take drink and food orders.... A MUST. in the morning we went on the sandbar stingray tour @7:15. we were the first out there and the stingrays came to meet our boat.... AWSOME....by the time we left there were 6 more boats there and a zillion people. I would not trade being the 1st out there for anything... you have to experience it. Jamaica was the best place to shop..... go to the grocery store and buy Jamaica seasonings and spices and shop at the open market.... Not the Taj Mahal! (the ship says Taj mahal, dont) Visit Jamaica Jeff in the open market he is very talented and has amazing art pottery and paintings. I would love to tell you more if you are interested .... let us know

The food on board was Pretty good. There are lots of choices. In the Main diningroom the food was consistantly good. Not Excellent but pretty good considering they serve 3000 people. Dont ask for your apple pie to be heated. They "can not take special orders, as there are too many people on the ship" The food is mass produced ahead of time and it shows. I am hoping we got a bum waiter, and that our experience was not typical. We did not have very good service in the dining room, we had great table mates and the asst waiter was great. We had to ask for drink service. On other ships you would get offered something to drink. We always got water with out fail, but maybe 3 out of 7 nights did we see a bar waiter. We started bringing our own opened bottle of wine to the table to share with everyone so that worked. The do not have a wine steward like some Cruise lines. Our room steward completely missed us one day.... but we had children and had inconsistant schedules in and out of the room. It might have been a fluke. We had a great time... The Victory is a beautiful ship and fun. But the food and service are not the strong points, there is room for improvement in my opinion, Do not go expecting to be waited on hand and foot or to have outstanding food and you will enjoy yourself. This was out 1st time on this line and i think it owned up to its "fun ship" reputation. Room service is great fast and good. dont forget to tip the room service guys. go to the Irish seas piano bar after 10 and see Cam... he is great.

Your review was very helpful. We went on the Ecstasy in 99 for 5 days.
Will be going on Inspiration in 8-01 for 7 days because we just can't get enough.
You went to the exact same ports that we are going to in august so it helped out alot to make decisions. What is the ships cost for the stingray excursion?
