Wondering which Carnival ship is the best for Spring Breakers - We are not too wild, but recent college grads, and want to have fun! Also, which is the newest?
Thanks in advance for the advice!!!
Kelly - you may not be too wild, but I can guarantee that a cruise with Spring Breakers does turn into quite a wild time.
We sailed a St. Patrick's Day cruise several years ago - one night, we were interrupted late at night (we usually don't get in until 2AM or so) by a Spring Breaker who had, shall we say, indulged a little too much. At least one of his friends was trying to steer him home and did apologize profusely.
As for ships, I guess it all depends on where you might like to go. A visit to Mexico can be nice. Grand Cayman is not a big party island, but Ocho Rios could be your speed - stick with ship's activities, rather than going off on your own. We enjoyed a Rum Boat trip to Dunns River Falls.
Personally, I like Eastern Caribbean itineraries. San Juan is a wonderful port - I have never been at night, but during the daytime it is fun to walk around and enjoy the ambiance. We also adore St. Thomas.
Now, onto the ships - the Fantasy Class ships are smaller than the newer ships. The newest ships are the Carnival Liberty and the Carnival Freedom. If you sail on the Liberty, go see Just Du'et in Harry's Supper Club. Great musicians. As for the Freedom, John Heald should be your Cruise Director during spring break - great guy, with a beautiful wife (Heidi).
Hope this info helps. Bon Voyage.

Depending on what you like, you'll probably find the party people already poolside with a couple beers when you board.. lol.. those are the ones you want to hang with. I've gone a couple cruises in March and the most fun is going to a shore excursion that has the word "Party" in it... Trust me on this one..

For my last Spring Break in college, a friend and I booked a 7 day exotic western Caribbean aboard the Carnival Valor, in March 2006.
I had worked all the other 5 years in college, so that year I was going to have fun!
It is a big Spring Break week, and the party was in full swing. Not being much of party people ourselves, we weren't sure what the week would end up like...
But let me tell you, party people or not, it was hands down, the best trip I have EVER taken. We had an absolute blast upon what has become my favorite ship. We visited Grand Cayman, Isla Roatan, and Belize. The only disappointing thing is that we didn't get to visit Costa Maya due to rough seas.
I also made a couple of friends from Cali. that I still keep in touch with.
You can always find something to do, no matter what crowd you go with. Spring Break is a crazy time no matter what ship you are on. However, I can just about guarantee you will have a good time no matter what ship you choose.
IMHO - as jpmaximus says, the shorter cruises are the real "party boats" (usually) ! That said Carnival ships do know how to get it on.
