Solo Traveler..E. Caribbean..need advice please

I'm going to the Eastern Caribbean on the Triumph..St. Thomas, St. Croix and San Juan..Can you give me any advice what do to in port for the solo traveler? Should I stick to ship excursions? Are these ports safe enough to walk around, sightsee and shop? Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When are you going? I will be traveling on the Triumph 10/27/01, will be going with brother and his family.

This will be my first cruise. I am very excited. I hope you have a good time. If you take any good pictures , post them.

This is my second cruise Tammy and I'm just as excited as I was for the first one, if not more! I'll be sure to post pics and a review when I get back

I would probably stick with the ships tour...and least that way there is a possibility of you meeting people to "hang around" with...if that is what you wanted! If you want solidarity...go ahead and book your tours at the pier. You will still be with a large group of people, and the price is much cheaper. Have a great trip!
