How's the Ambassador Hotel in New Orleans?

Found a good deal on a room at the Ambassador Hotel in New Orleans and wondered if anyone could let me know how it is?

I never stayed there, but we met up with friends who were staying at that hotel. Only seen the lobby, but it seemed ok. Nothing fancy, but who cares, you're going on a cruise the next day! It did seem clean and the porters were attentive.

The rooms are nice. I have not stayed there, but I am from New Orleans and my wedding party will be staying there, A few weeks ago I went to check out the hotel and they let me go into a room to see it. The staff is very nice, it is close to a lot of things, especially the Riverwalk whch you must go on.

The rooms are a decent size, but I would request a room on the second floor or higher because they are a little larger in size. There is also a resturant/bar in the hotel as well. You will be pleased if you stay.
