We are going on the Elation in October and are wondering what are the "fun" shore excursions? (Stops are in Cabo, Mazatlan & Puerto Vallarta). We took a look at the information on the Carnival website, but didn't find anything too exciting. Any recommendations?
Go with Randi's Happy Horses in Mazatlan! I'm booked with her for my Dec. cruise. She's just great! The excursion is really supposed to be fun! She has a website, but I'm at work right now and don't have the info. here. Anyone else have it?
Thanks John...that sounds fun. I didn't see swimming with the Dolphins listed in the Shore Excursions on the Carnival website. Is this something you did on your own? I wonder if we'd see many Dolphins in October??
Stone Island excursion in Mazatlan is the best. It is a party atmosphere on the Catamaran to the Island. Once there you are taken by tractor to the beach area. It is not crowded, lots to do, lunch is included (and wonderful), suveniors are great. There are several palapas (covered areas) if you choose to st ay out of the sun. People are very friendly and the alocoholic beverages are free and plentiful. If you are in to this sort of thing, then this is a must. Oh yeah, the beach is beautiful too.
In regards to the Stone Island excursion, I agree that Stone Island is awesome but we did not take the tour offered by Carnival. We took a taxi (for $1.00 pp) to the dock then took a boat ($1.00 pp roundtrip) to Stone Island. The beach vendors there are a bit annoying but other than that, it was awesome.
