Carnival Special East Coast Sailings for 2002
I know some info had been posted about Carnival returning to Bermuda next year for some special cruises, but I received this from my TA today and it lists other special sailings from Charleston, Newport News, New York and Miami:

MIAMI (07/31/01) - Carnival Cruise Lines' 102,000-ton Carnival Triumph will operate a series of special two- to seven-day sailings from four eastern U.S. ports - Charleston, S.C., Norfolk, Va., New York and Miami - in 2002.

According to Carnival President Bob Dickinson, the sailings are part of the line's efforts at diversifying its cruise offerings by providing guests with a greater variety of "Fun Ship" departures from ports closer to home. "Today's consumers are busier and more budget conscious than ever and these Carnival Triumph voyages provide residents of the eastern U.S. with a relaxing, convenient and affordable cruise vacation option - departing right from their own backyards," he said.

From Charleston, the Carnival Triumph will operate a six-day Bermuda
cruise departing May 29, 2002, and a five-day Bahamas voyage departing

King's Wharf, begin at $999 per person, while rates for the five-day
Bahamas cruise, featuring a visit to Nassau, start at $599 per person.

voyages begin at $349 per person (rate includes gratuities).

I also heard that next summer the Triumph will be replacing the Victory for the Canada/New England cruises that the Vicotory was doing this summer.
