Default Blue Lagoon @ Nassau

Can you go on your own to Blue Lagoon without having to take a tour. We didn't want to be on a set time schedule and were wondering if it was possible to do this via ourselves. Or should we do the Marriot Cable beach resort, we are looking to have a beach day and then do Atlantis in the evening.

You have to take one of the tenders (the Clypso) over to Blue Lagoon Island and they run on a "fixed" schedule. If your not snorkeling it is only $27 for the transportation to and from the ship...what you do once you get to Blue Lagoon is your decision unless you opt to rent the snorkel gear. I enjoyed the 3 hours of beach time there! Tenders back to the cruise ships leave at 1:30, 3:00 and 4:30 is the last run. Hope this helps.

My travel agent told me that the cable beach resort is the
way to go in nassau. If you take the #10A bus, it only cost
$1.00 each way to get there.

Cable Beach is nice, but your behind a cluster of resort hotels there. I spent 5 days on Cable Beach one year and did enjoy it! However, Blue Lagoon Island is a small private island off the coast and the beaches are MUCH less populated if you prefer to have your own space! I don't think you will be disappointed in either just depends on your preference. Enjoy!!!

Len, so the botton line is that I would have to take a tour to get there or can I easily get there on our own taking some sort of water taxi ? I just want to get our plans together before getting on the ship.

Barb, it's not a TOUR. I don't know the cost of getting to Blue Lagoon on your own, but you will be on the same tender (Clypso). It was $27 booked thru Carnival's shore excursion desk. You get transportation to and from Blue Lagoon and a comp. rum punch on the way over. Once you get to the island your on your own! Did you check their web site out? WWW.BLUELAGOONISLAND.COM Hope this helps and let us know if you go and how you liked it!
