Was wondering if anyone had any information about the Ecstasy. We are leaving on Monday for a 4 nighter. Does anyone know of pictures out there specifically of this ship? What is the crew like? Is the soda card worth the price? What about the winery tour in Ensenada? How much $$$? Was it fun? What to do in Catalina?
We took the Ecstacy on the 3 day in May and had a great time. The crew was extremely helpful(we were traveling with my Mother-in-law who is handicapped) The food was good to very good. The entertainment was enjoyable.
Hi, my friends and I sailed on the Ecstacy in late June of this past summer and had a really good time. I don't know of any pictures specifically for this ship, except that there might be some on Carnival's website. The crew was pretty good, our cruise director's name was Maraschal (something like that) and he kind of grew on us as the week progressed. Fred Flowerday, the musical director of the ship, is really funny and outgoing. He always made us laugh. We didn't take the winery tour in Ensenada, we went shopping in the dowtown area instead. In Catalina we took a glass bottom boat tour which was alright, short but sweet. So all in all we had a good time, I hope this helps you out.
Just to let you know that I cruised on the Ecstasy when it did the Key West/Cozumel itinerary. I don't have any pictures that I can post but I can tell you about the ship. When I went it was in excellent shape and very clean. The atrium is quite impressive in size. The decor can best be described as flashy and gaudy. Not subdued at all. I remember lots of purple and pink along with rather elaborate embellishments of gold. However, this contributes to the atmosphere of fun and having a good time. The ship really shines at night when the thousands of lights are on. In the atrium they change colors. The dining rooms are nicely appointed. We always eat our meals in the dining room because we like to be served. I hate getting in line at a buffet to carry my own food around. The cabins are very spacious. Our cabin was an outside on the Upper deck. We like this location since it seem convenient to most of the ship. This is why we prefer Carnival. The decor in the cabins is sparse, but I would rather have the room than prettier bedspreads and pictures. We tend to do as much as we can on a Carnival cruise. On some of the other lines it is easier to just relax because they don't schedule as many events to do. We have never had a bad cruise experience, so I can't really say one line is worse than the others. It just depends on what you like to do. Have fun!
