Default Carnival Pride Stop: Half Moom Cay

The island that the Carnival Pride will be stopping at, Half Moon Cay - isn't it the same one used by another cruiseline - maybe Princess or Holland America? Anyone out there been there before? How does it compare to RCCL's CoCo Cay or the stop used by NCL? Is the snorkeling very good? Thanks for any replies.

Half Moon Cay is an island near the Bahamas, I think, that is used as a "private" island for Holland America ships.

CCL owns Carnival and Holland.

The island is gorgeous...beautiful crescent shaped beach, chairs (some with umberellas), snorkeling, parasailing, bannana boat rides, floating mats, a little church, pavillions, nice restrooms, one tiny shop and some stalls for local crafts and hair braiding.

Holland America prepares and serves a BB-Q lunch under the pavillions.

I've been to Labadee, and to me, Half Moon is far better.

Yes, Half Moon Cay is also used by Holland America.

We made an unscheduled stop there in Jan '00 due to engine problems ( we couldn't get to the Bahamas). It is fabulous, we were treated to a wonderful barbecue, beautiful, clear waters and lovely beaches.
