Inspiration / New Orleans

I hope you can help. My son and his fiance are planning a honeymoon aboard the Inspiration in summer, 2002. They are really excited about the opportunity to port out of New Orleans.

I have been on the Inspiration out of San Juan, and we had a wonderful time, good food, friendly service and staff and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. We are, however a generation older and would like the opinions of those of you in your mid-late twenties who have taken the Inspiration out of New Orleans. My son is a scuba enthusiast, and they both like dancing and all the things young people like to do. T

Please provide your comments, and help them to make the right decision for a wonderful honeymoon. Thanks.

Just heard that the Carnival Paradise will also be leaving out of New Orleans come 2002, so another choice in Carnival ships.

If he is into diving the best port, Grand Cayman is only a half day stop on this ship. Out of Miami is a full day- would be my choice. New Orleans is extremely hot and muggy in the summer so just be prepared. Having visited there many times, I really like staying at the Merriott or Sheraton on Canal, near the Quarter and clubs but not in "the middle" of too much action.

I'm not in my 20's, but hubby and I are in our mid 30's and took our 2 daughters with us on the Inspiration just a couple weeks ago and had a BLAST! There is lots of places on the ship for them to dance and the social directors really make sure everyone is having a great time! In fact, hubby mentioned that we should have taken a cruise for our honeymoon 13 yrs ago. They will have a great time! The scuba diving in Grand Cayman is suppose to be the best in the world!
