What to do half day before boarding on San Juan

We will be cruising on Destiny Dec 23 ( Sunday) from San Juan. Our flight is coming to SJ Saturday night. Can someone recommend a simple half-day family sightseeing itenerary for Sunday morning? I am not sure when they start boarding but I guess it is going to be around 4-5pm.
Also - are there good hotels not far from cruise ships and sightseeing?

Maybe a tour of the Rainforest? Seems like that is a nice family thing. Educational is also a tour of the Barcardi Rum Factory <

We are going to San Juan on November 9 before sailing on the Holiday on the 10th. We are staying overnight at the Utell Regency Hotel on Ashford Ave. It is right on the beach at the edge of the Condado district and 2 miles from the cruise terminal. We got the promotional rate of $99 for the night. Much cheaper than most of the other San Juan hotels. Hotel got a good review from mikeymb on cruisecritic.com

We usually just take a cab down to Condado area, Old San Juan and browse around all the great shops, hotels, etc.... cabs are also really excellent about coming back to pick you up at the designated time.
