Default Need to make decision today, Help

I am booked on Carnival Victory 12/23/01 through carnival in a category 8A Cabin for 4 people with air from MCI for $5700. Today I get quotes from CruisesInc.com and Cruise.com for about $5000, same package. I have a $1000 deposit with carnival now. They say if I change cabins that they can keep my deposit and just adjust the total due....sound ok?

Chris..
U should be able to switch your existing booking from Carnival to the TA of choice no problem. Then the TA can switch it to their lower price.

I've said on these boards MANY times. A TA should always be able to beat the price of booking directly with the cruise lines. If not, u have the wrong TA.

Kuki

Normally I would totally agree with Kuki on this but with all the recent price drops that are for new bookings only that may cause a problem. According to your dates you should be within the final payment time and that makes re-booking without losing your deposit harder. Just be sure before you final somewhere else. I would assume that you have verified with Carnival on getting your deposit transferred.

Yes, I transferred to a different cabin category, the deposit went along with it and I saved $700

Thanks for your help

I'm glad you were right too, Kuki. I just wanted him to be sure and end up with a problem. You never quite know how things are going to go right now.

Susie..
Never a bad idea to be overly causeous. Heck if I had been 20 years ago, I'd be single today..
They key here was the cruise was booked directly with Carnival. When you book directly with Carnival, they'll always allow you to turn your booking over to a TA.

Kuki
