HI there. I am a single guy cruising with the family and a brother around my age. We are in our 20's...I need to know everything you know about recent sailings on this ship for the Eastern Carribbean itinerary. We are sailing 11/18/01 !
Hey Supernature,
I did find a review of Victory in the Eastern Caribbean from last spring, hopefully it will help you out:

he there,
i have been looking for some people that are going on the cruise the week of thanksgiving. i also am cruising with my family of 10 . i am 23 years old let me know if ya fing any one else on the ship at that time. also i have been on 3 cruises so far, this ship is supossed to be the best by far, so we will wait and see.
Hey guys, welcome aboard! I am on this cruise as well, and it is so good to hear there will be some other single folks on board when we sail on Sunday. I think it is mytravelco.com that has a 360 virtual tour of the ship if you want to check it out, and there is a pretty active thread of Victory passengers on the Carnival board over on cruisecritic.com.
I sailed on the Victory on December 31, 2000 to the Eastern Caribbean. The ship was awesome, the food was awesome (I gained 15lbs!). The beach excursion in St. Croix (Beach Party) was very cool, if you like to snorkel, lay in the sun and do nothing, you'll love it. San Juan -- Your time there is in the evening, so you find there isn't much to do, and you don't want to wander off the main road! It's a perfect night to stay on the ship! St. Thomas - lots of shopping and other fun excursions. Advice - stock up on the tax-free cheap liquor!
Storm'n Norman and Sherry - The Cruise Queen will be there on the 18th. Catch us in the Artic disco and Irish Sea Bar............partying!
See you on board..............

P.S Look for the guy all lit up! It'll be me!
I too will be on the Victory the week of Thanksgiving.. It's my 1st cruise ever.. I am also going with family; My brother his wife and my niece and nephew. I cannot wait. I don't know what to expect since its my 1st time. Rose
Hi Rose,
You may want to read through the section here for "first cruisers", some great tips. Hope you enjoy your first cruise and I bet it won't be your last, have fun:

One thing I heard about cruises that I couldn't find on any sites is that the swimming pools have salt water rather than fresh chlorinated water. Does anyone know if the Victory has salt or fresh water pools?
One other question: on formal night, is everyone expected to stay in their formal clothes the entire night, even after dinner during the shows? I understand that Carnival is a little more relaxed than other cruiselines, that's the main reason I chose Carnival. I know the guys are going to want to get back into casual clothes immediately after dinner.
The pools are saltwater. I didn't know that until my niece told me. Also on formal nights you do not have to stay in your clothes. I always changed my clothes for the shows or to go to the bars. Now you can stay in your clothes. I saw people that did. Usually every night I got out of my dress and put on pants. The last night I wore a nice pants outfit to dinner just cause I didn't feel like going up to change and wanted to go straight to party on my last night.. We didn't even do the dining room every night. We skipped a night or two when we were busy shopping and partying at St. Croix and St. Thomas. St. Croix has this Harbor night party every other Wednesday. It was alot of fun. Rose
