I recently found out that my cruise fare (for the February 15, 2002 Spirit sailing) was lowered $140. Call your travel agent and ask them to check with Carnival. (It doesn't hurt to check.) And you don't have to have a specific cabin number booked yet. It's okay to be in the "TBA" category to get this discount and you still have a chance of being upgraded.
The price dropped on my Paradise Dec 30/2001 cruise. Through my travel agent Carnival gave me:
-a three catagory upgrade,
-$100.00 per person ship board credit.
It doesn't hurt to ask your travel agent.
We just got $900 U.S. off our cruise, and we can pay the remainder at 1.56 exchange instead of 1.59. I agree ask your travel agent and see what they can do. We are sailing the Victory in Jan. with a family of 6, so the discount will definitely help.
Jen, I am happy for you but livid with my travel agent. We had heard about prices going down on the 12/30 Paradise but she booked through a carrier not directly with Carnival and no discounts for us (there are 9 of us going!!). We even contacted Carnival directly but it's not their responsibility. Luckily we are paying in Canadian so any changes in the dollar do not affect our locked in prices.
