Can anyone tell me their experiences with the coupous you can purchase for soft drinks as well as bar drinks? Is this any substantial savings? The only thing I have been aware of before is the soft drink card that is good for unlimited use throughout the cruise for about $30. I was told this was good for fountian drinks only and that the wait staff could not bring you the drinks, you had to get them for yourself.
Does the same apply with these coupons? Any help answering these questions would be appreciated. Thanks!
All I know for certain is that the coupons have to be bought prior to the cruise and are not available on the ship. You have to buy a card once on the ship if you don't wish to pay the "per" drink price.
And if I understand what other posters have said, you get soda free with you meal and you have to use the card in the bars/lounges? I would like a clarification if anyone knows for sure if soda comes with the dining room meals?
Chyna, Soft drinks are not free on Carnival, even at dinner. RCI has free soft drinks at dinner only which may be what you are thinking of. The pre-paid soda card is available for those that feel the need for soft drinks.
On a five day cruise the soft drink card was $27. You were able to get a small glass of coke at the bars, for dinner, etc. The wait staff also would bring them at various functions. A full can of coke was $1.50. I think I would have been better off just buying by the can.
Thanks Robo, that must be where I heard that...it is what I get for reading so many posts.
The math: If I drank one soda with lunch and one with dinner at $1.50 each that is $3 a day. A seven day cruise would then cost me $21 to have soda with lunch and dinner right? In order to reach $30 I would have to drink at least 1 more a day to reach the $30. Do most adults drink more than 3 soft drinks a day? Please don't think I am being "blonde" (which I am by the way ), I am wanting to really know.
On a hot day in the sun I can drink 3 or more before dinner easily, a couple more sitting in the casino, and another 1 or 2 back in the cabin. Mind you, except for my favorite BBCs on a cruise, I don't drink alcohol (too many years in the bar business<g>)
debra if you have a soft drink card the wait staff will bring it to you .My wife got one in oct. on our last cruise it cost 30.00 plus 15% tip.The bar drink coupons are great you get 4 for 20.00 a good mix drink cost 3.75 +15% tip.a frozen drink cost 4.75+15% tip.even if you drink beer you will still save some cash. Also with coupons you don't have to take out your sail&sign card or sign for your drinks
