just wondering - the only cruise i have been on was the princess grand / may 2000. when we got documents, i could go on internet and pull up our trip. i could book excursions, find room (altho i have been told cabin), etc. can we do this with carnival ? i have yet to find a site like this on carnivals website.

You will not find such a site for Carnival. They need to take lessons from Princess on this one.
Vicki
You can go to Carnival.com for more information.

Carnival doesn't let you book excursions until you are on the ship. If you want a list of the excursions and their prices you can call or e-mail carnival and they will send it out to you.

If you want or order little "extras" (flowers in the cabin or drink coupons ect) before the cruise you can do that on carnival.com but you have to register with the mycarnival thing and know your cabin number and booking number (which will be on your cruise docs).

Hi Pam,

You must have read my mind. We were on the Grand Princess this past June and booked EVERYTHING through the on-line site. It was truly wonderful to have all of this pre-planned and booked. We are on the Imagination this December (12/29) with our kids this time and I was wondering the same thing. We don't have our docs yet and don't know our room since we are guarantee so we are in the dark as well. Princess to Carnival?????? People think we are crazy but this our kids trip (Christmas present) and Carnival had the best price/intinerary/timing for us so we are NOT going to compare trips since we KNOW this will be completely different. I have heard from others that the first thing you should do when you board any Carnival ship is to get to your cabin and tune into Funvision (??) on the TV and quickly book your excursions - don't wait. Have fun !!

You can ONLY access your reservation via Carnival.com IF you did your own booking on the website. You can view shore excursions offered on your sailing, but can't book them until once on board. Advise: look at what excursions are offered on your sailing, get an idea, and book them once on board ASAP since some do sell out quickly! If you know your cabin number you can also pull up deck plans to see where your located. Have a nice cruise!

real different huh ? haha i'm with you - i'm taking my daughter for her birthday december 27th on carnival fantasy for a 3-day bahama cruise AND in march during spring break, my husband and i are taking daughter and son in law on a 7 day eastern carib on the new pride boat ... so we are DEFINITELY looking at cheaper rates at the right time for the kind of itinerary we wanted. BUT - i'll be going back to princess that is for sure. i liked all that they had and the ease of everything. i had no idea about the funvision thing either ! the only thing daughter and i are doing is getting to the ATLANTIS as soon as we can and send a lot of time there ... otherwise it is just the boat - which is fine ! but for eastern cruise - i definitely want to shore excursions on st martin... st thomas / st john too, but we could do things on our own there if we had too. we know cabin numbers for both cruises so that is nice - and we will be on the boat - hopefully - by noon on december 27; and by noon on march 23rd also. so - as long as they let us on, we'll be there early so hopefully will be able to book things... as princess' slogan goes ... "ahhh, i want to go back" ...

happy cruising !
