Now that we have figured out what we are
doing in Aruba, it's time for Curacao.
While it is still over 6 months until
we go on our 11-day Carnival Paradise
Sailing, we are starting to research
the islands that we are going to be
visiting. So, second on the list is Curacao.
We are a 30ish couple with a 5-year old
daughter interested in what you have to
say about Curacao. Here's a list of questions
that we have thought up, but please feel
free to add anything else.
1. Recommended must see's
2. Ship excursions vs. plan your own ($$$)
3. Recommended Beaches (snorkle and swim)
4. Best places to shop (bargain shopping)
5. Places to Eat
6. Taxi $$ or buses if available
We once did a snorkeling excersion through the ship, took us out to a nice cove and snorkeled off the ship. I was quite amazed at the amount of fish we did see, if I remember correctly, it was reasonably priced too, just a thought. We've also found just walking through the town is nice, the natives were friendly, but not overly.
A really nice excursion is the Animal Encounters Snorkling. This is an excursion offered be Carnival. For this excursion you are in the ocean water, but it is fenced off. You swim with all sorts of fish, including sting rays. They have sections fenced off where you can swin next to sea turtles and sharks. It is truely a different experience. Another benefit of this excursion is they supply you with fish to feed the other fish, turtles, and sharks. It was a very nice experiece and a very nice facility.
