Did this cruise Jan 20 and had a great time. Good food, service and entertainment.
Did the 7 hour Sierra Madre tour in Mazatlan since we do not care for the city itself. The tour was excellent, especially if you are interested in the history of the area. They take you to two fairly small villages in the Sierra Madre mountains and include lunch at a local restaurant.
Puerto Vallarta is an interesting town for a walking tour, but you can pretty well do this yourself. The local bus will take you from the marina to the downtown area. If you would like a nice beach experience here, you can walk from the ship to the Karmina hotel and for $6 spend the day there and use their facilities. It is located about 4 blocks directly away from the ship (the access road ends at the hotel).
You might want to take a tour in Cabo, we didn't and regretted it( there is not much to do there except some shopping at the pier). You are also limited to about 3 or 4 hours in port.
