Default luggage

if we check our luggage at one airport and have a connection to get to orlando,do we have to get our luggage at the connecting airport and have it rechecked again. Or is it automatically put on our next plane. We bought the carnival fly aweigh program. and does carnival automatically take it from orlando airport and to our rooms!

Hi Cindy,
Wish connecting flights, the luggage will go directly to the next plane, you don't have to do anything. You do have to go and pick it up once you get to Florida and take it to the bus/cab. Once at the pier, there will be porters that will take the luggage up to your cabin, just be sure to tip a few dollars. Have Fun!

Hi Cindy. My experience is that they check your bags all the way through from your first airport to your end destination. You pick up you bag at the baggage claim. A cruiseline rep will meet you either at your disembarkment gate for the airline or in the baggage claim areal. You take a short walk over to the buses. Bags are loaded, then unloaded in the port termial for you to verify all are present. Cruise line will then wisk your bags to your cabin for you. Helpful hint: Bring a pair of shorts/ sandels in your carryon as it sometimes takes a little while to get your luggage. Depending on where you come from, your clothes may be on the warm side for the ocean city!
Have a blast!

Sorry Shanden, but since 911 things have changed even for cruises. Your luggage will be checked through to your final destination Orlando no matter how many changes or stops your flight makes. At the luggage carousel, you will claim your luggage and take it with you to your Mears bus transportation that Carnival has arranged for you. You will give it to the driver to load under your bus. There is not much space in the bus, so make sure if you put your carry-on under the bus it does not have anything in it that you will need. You will be brought to the port for checkin and your luggage will be put into the large steel bins for loading onto the ship. They will be delievered to your cabin in a few hours. Our Pride sailing was at 4 p.m. and we boarded just after 1 p.m. We had all of the suitcases by 3 p.m. Carnival's arrangements went very well.
Bon voyage
