Do the slot machines on the Carnival Cruise lines take quarters? Or are they like the Casinos where you must purchase tokens? Of course we know that the odds of winning on the one-armed bandits are slim, does anyone have an opinion of when the best time is to play -- beginning of trip? End of trip?
The slots on CCL take quarters, BOY do they take quarters! <> I am not a gambler so I have no first-hand knowledge of what they are paying in return but they are most likely the same as other ships. As to when is the best time, many people swear they pay off more at the beginning to entice you to play but I have no proof of that and the casino folks deny it. I have no reason to disbelieve them.

My personal experience is they payoff better in the beginning, like the first night right when they open. And then you spend the rest of the cruise giving them back your winnings.
They take nickels, quarters, and every type of paper money you would have with you. The $0.05 slots take $100 bills. Talk about spending the night at one machine.
Nickels are the best, they do pay enough to keep you playing for a while. Try the jackpot party games. When you get 3 presents in a row, you get to play the jackpot party. That's when it's really fun. I used them all week and came out about $10 ahead by the end. The quarters and dollars just suck you dry real quick.
Rick......Wow, I have never tried that. I have seen people rub the screen with a plush toy......I have seen people put little trinkets on the top of their machine. But, I have never heard someone talking to their machine. I will try that next time.
There is no magic button on one arm bandits to make them pay better or worse. The need to be reprogrammed to do that. By the way did you know that when you drop in your money the random counter stops. Its not when you pull the handle or push the button.
