Going on a Southern Caribbean trip June 9 on the Destiny. I have booked a Cat. 12 for my wife and I and an 11 for my two daughters. Any comments on the size and amenities? We are experienced cruisers, however, have no history on Carnival. This cruise was selected by my older daughter who is graduating from college this May. We do not expect the same level of amenity as Sebourn, Princess or Royal Caribbean. Will we be surprised?
The ammenities and furnishing's in suites on Carnival may not strike you as "rich" as some of the other cruise lines you've named, but the Cat 12s are VERY nice. Cat 11s are larger and nicer (in my opionion) than Mini Suites on Princess for example.
If you're not expecting a Seabourn experience there is no reason at all that you shouldn't have a great time on the Destiny.
We just got back from The Destiny two weeks ago and had the best vacation of our lives. The rooms were quite large and the service was great. I don't think you will be disappointed at all. Have a great trip!
