Luggage tags

I have a question, excuse me if I sound dumb.
If I haven't been assigned a room # yet, then how am I supposed to know what to put on my luggage tags when I get there? How will the staff know which rooms to put my bags in? Please help. Thanks.

If I remember correctly you put TBD (To Be Determined) and the porters will look the room number up on the manifest using your name. Or, before having the stevedores take your backs you can check in, find out your room assignment then write it on the tag then have the bags taken

Re: Luggage tags

We had a guarantee when we sailed on the Pride in January. Our luggage tags that came with our documents were a grey color. We had called our travel agent the day before we sailed, and he was able to call Carnival and get us our cabin assignment, so we put the cabin number on the grey tag. When we got to the terminal, the porter saw that we had our cabin number, so he didn't look it up, but he still put the proper colored tag for our cabin on the luggage and we put our last name and cabin number on it.

Thanks for the advice. Its my first time cruising and I haven't been assigned a cabin yet and was really worried about my luggage not making it to my room. So I guess the only stupid question is the one not asked huh?
I go on the Fantasy May 23!!! Can't wait, me and my best friend!!! I hope it's not too overly crowded with kids but oh well, I know I will still have a good time regardless.
Thanks a bunch!!

Re: Luggage tags

As you can tell by my signature, we sailed on the Fantasy in April, 2000, and we are booked on her again for this October. It is a wonderful 4-night getaway cruise!! As far as the ship having lots of children on it, I don't think that will be the case the end of May. I could be wrong, but it just seems that with it being close to the end of the school year and final exams, etc., there would not be a whole lot of children on board. Have a wonderful time!!
