Default Early vs late seating on Carnival Fascination

Myself and my boyfriend are first time cruisers sailing May 6th-10th on Carnival Fascination. I would like to eat later in the evening which allows me more time to get ready and more suntime spent by the pool, but I have heard bad things about late seating....very limited food choices left, bad or no seating for shows or events, ect....
Has anyone ever compared?? or had a good/bad experience they can share??

Thanks!

On the nights with the big theatre productions there are 2 shows, one for the early diners and one for the late. People save seats no matter what show you go to, that doesn't really have anything to do with their dinner time.
I highly doubt they run out of food for the late seating on a regular basis.
I believe they have 4 seatings on the Fascination now, 5:45, 6:15, 8:00 and 8:30pm. As long as you can eat a heavy meal later in the evening you shouldn't have any trouble with the later seatings.

I have been on two cruises, and found that earlier seating is preferrable. Many activities are during the late dinner time, and you don't want to miss those. As far as the longer day goes, if there are a couple of nights you don't want to have to get ready, go casual and eat as you watch the sun go down at the outdoor restaurant!!! Have fun and enjoy whatever you may choose.

Though I personally prefer early seating for dinner ( more time to enjoy the ship's nightlife), there is not truth to the stories of food shortages, or missing shows.

Shows are scheduled to repeat so both early and late dinners have a show to go to.

Some folks prefer late so they don't feel rushed returning from ports of calls, and want to nap or sun in the late afternoon.
Early seating generally has more families than late seatings.
Here's a link to an article I wrote on the subject. that may help.

Hi Tonya,
I too enjoy the "early" seating more. So far I've not had a problem rushing to get ready for dinner, usually you are leaving the ports about that time, leaves more time for the shows, casino and other night-time activities. I think its definitely a personal preference, we normal eat around 6:00 at home too, so it just works for us!

I have yet to hear that there are any limited choices for the later dinner though, should be plenty of food left, don't worry about that when making your choice, enjoy!

Hi: Just got off the Fascination. If you are on the Key West / Cozumel itinerary, we chose the 6:15 seating as we wanted more time at night to do more things. It worked out well for us. Have fun. Check out "2 Slick" in the Passage to India lounge. They are a riot and play great dance tunes. Bob
