Default Your best deal ever?

Okay folks, share you best cruise deal ever (and maybe where you got it). I'll start:

I currently have a 7 day, run-of-ship, Explorer of the Seas for $1398 for two ($699 each)
and a 7 day, run of ship for $1148 for two ($548 each)

Don't be shy, it's not tacky to tell... and it may even help people get an idea of how to get good deals!

Best Carnival buy I ever got was $229 for an inside on the West Coast for 4 nights.

Got the same trip on Royal Caribbean and an outside for $199 (including port too)

Best deal ever was a 6-night coastal cruise from Ensenada to Victoria and Seattle on the Norwegian Sky for $412 a person including port -- a balcony stateroom!!

We don't mind everyone sharing their "best deals". However if you're listing specific dates, and prices, please DO NOT list agencies. That would be considered advertising, and will be deleted.

Best to take that sort of thing to private e mail.

Price does not necessarily equal to best deal.

We were once blessed with a last minute deal offered to us from our hometown TA. She called us as soon as she was told it was available and it was a 5 day cruise for $249pp and third was $99 so basically for a 5 day cruise we only spend $200 each which included all port and taxes! $40 per diem is unheard of and I don't think we will ever see that happen again...darn it! <G> Now I will admit that right after 9/11 we did a couple cruises and they were offering us to remain onboard for $50per diem, just unfortunately we had already been on a back to back so had to go home, again..darn it! <>

I think one of the best deals ever was our upcoming CruiseMates Group Cruise on the Celebrity Summit. 11 nights Honolulu to Vancouver. Balcony cabins were $1099 all in except air.

Okay, maybe this is a better way to respond to this topic: break down you deal into a "per diem" rate. Since cruises are difficult to compare, maybe comparing the dollars per day would be more useful.

Balcony cabin on Grandeur of the Seas, 11/30/01 for ten days about $ 91. per person
per day.
What is there not to like about cruising?

Going on Paradise 5/2 , outside guarantee for about $ 92 pp/per day.
Anytime you can get an outside under $ 100 , you got adeal!

There were 3 One back in 1984 on the Sitmar Fairseas out of LA to Mexico 10 day's with air from NJ fot 2 in an outside cabin port tax and everything was only $1.500 for the 2 of us .
Another was on the RCCI SOS & NCL's Seaward back in 1989 back to back cruises with port tax was only $1.300 for the both of us .No air .

And the best was on Regen Sea $ Star back to back cruises from Jamm. on 2/ 14/90 with air from NYC 14 days was only $1.600 for the both of us with air .And remember this was hight season winter time .It could cost that much just for air fair to get to the Caribbean in the winter time.

I originally thought my best deal was last year on the Norway -- 7 days, Eastern Carib, inside cabin, $430 each for two ($860) total ---- BUT!!!!!! we just booked the Victory, 7 days, Eastern Carib, Upper Deck, Oceanview cabin, $415 each for a total of $830 for two.

Hard to beat that.

(for you Norway haters ---- yes, I know she is old and tired, but she still has class).

Carnival Pride 1/9 - Special 4 day Bahamas sailing before she went into regular service. $404 per person for a balcony 8A and was given an automatic upgrade to 8F. Maybe does not sound like a GREAT deal, but usually the prices are much higher for brand new ship! Was the best stateroom I have been in so far! Also enjoyed the entire ship!

My daughter got a deal on the Paradise last year, $299 each for her and husband, $199 for her au pair and $99 for her son, so for less than $900, they had a 7 day cruise for 4.
My best deal I guess is the upcoming cruise on the destiny, $500 each for a balcony cabin incl. all taxes, this was booked just after the 9/11 incident......jean
