Good place Judy recommends. However, if you want to get started early on the fun and don't mind a 30 minute drive or so to the port, try staying in Daytona Beach. Lot's of fun there to jump start your vacation.
We just returned from the Pride. You will love the cruise. We did priceline for the day before and the day after the cruise. We bid $50.00 and stayed at the Doubletree pre-cruise and the Hilton post cruise. Both were on Atlantic avenue. We rented from hertz and their office is next door to both and also have complimentary shuttle to and from the port. We prefered the Hilton Hotel...the pool and beach access was a little better. Hope this helps.

Back in Sweet Home Alabama now........(Closer to the nearest Port)
yes the radisson is the best and easist place to stay at. its only about 5-6 minutes from tyhe port. if you are looking them up on there web site, try entering FALL in there promotions section when gettting quotes from there web site. there prices drop from $99 per night to only $59.
We are sailing the pride 12/28/02 . We are flying into Orlando a day early so the cruise lines couldn't provide transfers. Cabs and Limos were over $100. We are renting a car from Avis for under $75. and the have a rent a car desk at the Radisson where we are staying for the 1 nite. ( Rates r really cheap at this hotel). We can drop the car off right at the hotel and use there free transfers to the port. Also, 1 more plus with the car u can use it the whole day and nite because the rental fee is the same for 3 hrs as 24 hrs. If u arrive early enough u can go to an Orland attraction or Kennedy Space Center or just go out for dinner at your leisure. We hope this helps.
There is a Holiday Inn in Cocoa Beach which is a short drive to the Port. We stayed there for three days and really enjoyed the pools and beach. The rates were good in January, about $49 a night, which was a local special with a coupon from visitor guide. Our room was right next to the pool on the ground level. We loved it and so did our grandsons.
I am going on the Pride on 8/31/02 we are flying in the day before and staying at the Holiday Inn in Orlando. You can get Transfers from Carnival for $30.00 and they will take you to Port Canaveral from the airport. . We are staying somewhat close to the airport and takeing the free shuttle from the Holiday Inn back to the airport and then Carnivals Transfer to the boat. If you rent a car I hear the lot is small.
