My wife and I will be on our honeymoon in new orleans and on the inspiration July 21. Does anyone recommend any must do activities in new orleans. We will be there for a couple of days before the cruise. On the same token any must do's on the ship.
Stroll through the French Quarter and have beinets at Cafe Du Monde!
Grab yourself a table, people watch and enjoy. They're open twenty four hours a day. Although wonderful in the am, it's also a popular late night spot. Of course, mornings and nights can blur together in New Orleans.
Jesse- I agree with Mermaid - don't miss Cafe DuMonte. Stay on the main streets in New Orleans. My ex-husband is from there and he's always said it's not safe on the outskirts. My cousin, daughter, and I will be on the Inspiration with you on 7/21. Looking sooooo forward to it. Happy Honeymooning! julie
I agree with all of the above and in addition, check out the Audubon Zoo. It's WILDLY entertaining. There are SO many animals that you just DO NOT see very often. We just got back from New Orleans on Sunday and loved it. Of course, we took my son, but my husband and I really enjoyed it as well. It's not your typical zoo, it's very quiet and peaceful. Also really got a kick out of the Aquarium of the Americas. It's got some really freaky looking aquatic creatures!
Bourbon Street was (as usual) kickin' butt. If you guys really want a nice meal, try Arnauds. Sammy's is also good for deli-style sandwiches and plates. If you don't have your room booked yet, try the W on Chartres St. It's a FABULOUS hotel. The suites there are outrageous. It's got a very cool atmosphere. Music is played all the time, and I don't mean elevator music.
I was on Inspiration in January. I'm hooked now, too. Looking forward to Conquest whenever I can get on it!
