Has anyone tried to use AT&T cards from the islands namely Grand Cayman or Jamaica? I was going to buy one to use to call back to the U.S. from port.
I read somewhere that people have been having trouble when they call the access number. They get the Cable and Wireless system of the island and than can't get the AT&T operater to place the call.
I called AT&T about it and they said people have said they had problems.
They said the islands sell their own cards to use there. But I don't want to spend my day looking for calling cards.
Any advice on how to call home from port since it is so expensive from the ship?
Or is it better to use the internet on the ship and email?
Hi-
I work for the long distance carrier in question-- while the cards work great from some places there are a lot of places there are problems( and they can be very expensive). The cards work best from US locations like San Juan and St Thomas.
On my recent cruise ( since my husband was home) I set up an internet account on the pride for 100 minutes for I believe it was $55-- worked great.
