We want to sail with the Pride in January 2003. The cruise only prices differ from $ 499 till $1100. Our TA told us that a cruise only for a cabin with balcony on the Pride is about $1000. That makes it rather expensive, because we also have to book a flight from Europe to Orlando. The package deal we can book from here is more expensive. So I wondered how the cruise only prices are in the States.
I just checked one of the dot com agencies and the cost for the Pride on 1/11/2003, including port charges and taxes is $1,151.35 each for a category 8C and for a Category 8I is $1,211.35. You can probably do a little better than this by calling them directly on the phone.
Jaclyn, those prices, if in US dollars, are very fair. I sailed the Pride last February $1259 inc. air) and hope to sail the new Legend this year. Prices for a group cruise which are deeply negotiated start at $1125 for a Cat. 8A. Airline prices are very high right now for next Winter, so you may just have to do a little shopping.
Bon Voyage
Tnx Nanatravel, but the price I have is cruise only, without airfare. But we still have some months to go before sailing . I "cruise" the internet for better prices, and tnx for the support.
We sailed the Pride in Jan. 2002 to the Eastern Caribbean and our category 6d was $932 pp. total. It was a balcony room on the Empress level.
Try posting on the Bargain Finders feature on this web site. Post what cruise you want to take, when you want to take it, and how many people are going and travel agents will contact you by e-mail quoting you their best fare.
One thing to consider. On the Pride most of the activities, restaurant, casino, bars, atrium, lounge are on bottom decks, so in my opinion getting a cabin on a higher deck is not worth the extra money. We got upgraded to a higher deck but would've preferred to be on a lower deck so we didn't have to take the elevator to get to all the activities.
